Getting married in Connecticut don't forget the Marriage License
The state of Connecticut does not require a witness to be present for your ceremony and there is no waiting period.
To obtain your marriage license you will need the following:
Picture Identification(either a license or a passport)
and a $30.00 fee in cash or a check made payable directly to the towns"Town Clerk".
You will be asked some simple questions. You and your parents names. Place of Birth, your Birth Date, your level of education, and how many times you have been married.
Both of you must be present but not necessarily at the same time.
You have 65 Days to use your marriage license.

Handling PWS! Pre-Wedding Stress

Wedding planning can become over whelming very easily and create commotion and anxiety. Always remember this is your wedding; yours and your fiance's that is. Below are some suggestions to help you both through "PWS'
  • Find time to relax. Go away to be alone as a couple for the weekend, and leave the wedding planning at home (in the wedding consultants hands of course!)If finances or time will not allow a weekend away, on to the next option.
  • Then have a date night. Make the night a moratorium on wedding planning discussions. Reconnect and talk about all the things you used to talk about before your wedding was the main topic of conversation. No color swatches, flower choices, or bridal party discussions until the following day.
  • Keep your sense of humor. Laugh about a situation or at least make the best out of it. The frustration that can be carried is a weight on your shoulder, it can often cause more stress than it truly is worth.
  • And the most important way to distress from "PWS" is to focus on each other, the love that brought you together in the first place. Be sure to remind yourselves of the reasons you chose to marry one another each and every day!
